Rant About MMJ Detractors From Council Meetings!

I have noticed a few local Columnists have been swirling some "Stories" (editorial commentary) about MMJ (Medical Marijuana) Patients shouting, dressing badly and behaving "Out Of Order" at council Meetings... well...

I was not there; I did not witness any particular incident!  However, I will say that I can understand that there are some real anger issues and how frustrated people are over this mess (not just in Chico), because, it does not matter ONE BIT what "these people" have to say, no matter WHAT, the Councils (multiple cities) are going to do whatever it is they have set their narrow minds to do, the "haves" are squashing the "have nots" and they are becoming increasingly overwhelmed with the inability to get a “message” through to them!  Nor do they understand the audacity to show a total lack of empathy in these "Councils" everywhere that are determined to run over their rights to affordable medication!!! Also, it is very tacky to keep on attacking their "attire", challenge their intelligence and then call out for their ridicule instead of hearing ANYTHING that they are upset and overwrought about!! Other, "classier" MMJ patients are hiding and living in fear they will be "discovered" and subsequently ostracized by their so called "peers" and stay quietly aside and silent!  They can and will continue to afford to buy it OTC, no matter the rise in cost and will say nothing!  For example, there is not a chance your going to see the “Nursing Supervisor” from our Local Hospital there, standing up for her rights and waving her MMJ card around!!  Certainly not, she will continue to pay an exorbitant price at the local store because there is no way she can grow her 2-3 plants and can never let anyone know she has a Prescription!  You are only getting to witness the anger and frustration of the people with pretty much nothing left to loose and have no other way to get their only means of RELIEF for their PAIN AND SUFFERING!  What do you think the chances are of getting part of that scrip picked up by Medicare Plan B?  No?  Okay, well, it costs about $300-$500 per month on average OTC right NOW!  Keep putting those restrictions on and soon it will be X2-X3 higher than that! YOU would be outraged and out of control too if you had to live in constant PAIN, every minute of every hour, because some ignorant fool does not like the smell of your PLANT!  Mind you this smell is only for a few weeks ONCE a year!!  Dog poop, lawn/bug sprays and leaf fires are YEAR ROUND!!  How about a ban on all noxious plants? I wish they would ban all flowering trees too, at least a few hundred feet from my house, because they are Killing My Allergies right now!!

Medical Marijuana Has Significant Effect On Pain Tolerence

I so lifted this picture from the internet and cannot find where now...
I have found that there is a determinative level between "just enough" and "too much" when using my Medical Marijuana.  It varies slightly between Strains and Types, but there is still a "cut-off" point between what it takes to trim the proverbial "edge" off my pain level and sitting someplace drooling on myself while engrossed in "Little House On The Prairie"!  I like to just be able to forget about my pain enough to be temporarily distracted by doing my simple activities and chores!  In comparison of course, the usual Pharmacological Cocktail I would be on, to reach the same level of pain tolerance, would have me curled up on the couch for the entire day!  They would usually make me feel like I am about to pass out and I feel nauseous most of the time.  So, I gladly take a little time to titrate my dosages and methods for a Medication that makes me feel good instead of worse than my illnesses! :)

I have become a real Princess when it comes to smoking my Cannabis, I am fastidious and clean my apparatus several times a week, I use a "filter", use a bees wax wick for lighting and I use very small amounts because I do not like smoking a "brown bowl"... I am so spoiled...

I really wish I had a Vaporizer, but unfortunately they are out of my financial grasp at the moment! :-}

I must say, "Hats Off" to the wonderful Staff over there at Redding's "Nature's Nexus" they are knowledgeable, courteous and very friendly! (Fun too) ...  :)

Is There No Such Thing As An Serious Conversation Concerning The Use Of Medical Marijuana??

I have been Combing the Internet trying to find a Real discussion, having to do with the "Actual' Use of Medical Marijuana!  I seem to be able to find a plethora of sites with idiotic bantering of/about "Yeah Man...My Bud Rocks DUDE!", and even the occasional brain picker concerning the neurotransmitter receptors, neurotransmitter factors, neuropeptides and hormones receptors, but a "real conversation" about the everyday, Real life World application of Medical Marijuana to a Real Life has pretty much so far eluded me!

"Why Would You Eat That?" Conditioning? IDK?

I recently was overcome with the urge to purchase a chub of "Liverwurst" as I was browsing through the Deli section at my local Mart.  Quickly pounced on by (family) observers, I was besotted with questions (?); What is that? Why would you eat it?  To wit I could only respond, uhm, well, I don't know?

When I was a child, my Dad prepared, served and ate some really mysterious things.  He was raised on a Farm in North Dakota, where apparently on cold winter nights, deep in the snow, anything is edible... consequently, My Dad felt compelled to BBQ, Pickle, Jerk, Dry, or Encase just about any form of meat!  I guess it was a Hobby of sorts, weird, but interesting eating...when your hungry, you will eat some strange things too...

We had Rattlesnake, Possum, Bear, Ostrich and Alligator as well as any number of more usual things like Deer, Moose, Elk, Boar, Rabbit, Quail and hell I guess the list is too long...but you get the picture!
But whenever he coveted something, he had a way of "sneaking" it off to his room and we would be of course BARELY the wiser most of the time, only getting "wind" of it once in awhile, like an empty package or container!  This of course made it all the more desirable to us, the ones NOT getting any of it!

One of these strange things my Dad Hoarded and wouldn't give up was his Liverwurst, or Braunschweiger, this of course has set me up for life to occasionally and without reason suddenly desire to purchase and consume some unknown and strange meat sandwich... I don't WANT to find out what is in it... just pass the mustard and leave me alone... at least I'm not hunting Rattlers!  Well,..... lately...  "0

Living In Constant Pain Sucks!

It is like a nightmare you cannot wake up from!  My pain NEVER leaves me!  Ever!  24 hours a day, every minute, second, is just a matter of degree!  What level is the pain?  Is it down at the level low enough (2-3) that I can try to preoccupy my mind to cover it?  Or, is it jacked up so high that each move I make has to be calculated as to what degree of agony I am going to suffer in repercussion of moving?  I have to decide if whatever I am about to do, "is it worth it?", if I am going to go cook something, walking to the kitchen is the equivalent of ripping off a band-aid with each step!  Now, I still have to open the refrigerator, pull something out, lift the pan onto the stove, each time weighing the odds as to how much pain I can take!

No drugs stop the pain, a few will dull it, but the cost of LIFE for that MINOR relief is too high!  I do not want to be a zombie!  I keep a few bottles of things around just in case, but don't want to go out that way!  Cannabis does at least helps me to live on the level where it is bearable most of the time, without all the "other" side effects!  I have enough trouble dealing with my "condition" without adding the dizziness, vomiting, lethargy, digestive problems and so on and so forth that I have to deal with from the Pharmacopia offered by the MD!

Sitting down, laying down, no matter what position I am in I am still in pain!  I have a bizarre condition that any movement can and often leads me to even more severe spasms with twisting, pulsating pain and it is so intense I am literally left screaming in agony!  I choose to live and push forward, but often wonder how close to the edge I can go...

They STOLE My POT Man!! Is There A MMJ POLICE?l?

So, I guess this is just the hazard of being at the mercy of regulations that keep me from providing my own plants?  If I could grow my own little measly few (3-4) plants I would not have to "farm out" my medical recommendation to someone else to grow for me, and now of course they would not just be keeping it!  What can I do?  I sure can't physically go over there and confront them!!  So, after buying plants/seeds for the "group", special soil, nutrients and so on in the $$hundreds of dollars, the entire season is now over, I have no hope of recouping, I now have zero (0) medication because they got mad (?)!  Won't even take my calls...

I am thinking now, I should have considered that Morphine Implant....

Another Reefer Madness Tactic "High At Work!" We Are All Going To Die Now!! Public Safety Is At Risk!!

And then we are going to eat your babies, rape your dogs and burrow under your house while you sleep!
GTFOH!
Really?  I could ROFL just thinking about the people hanging from the rafters, laughing hysterically, eyes flicking wildly as they try to serve our breakfast, ring a sale or stamp our tickets!  Maybe the cop that stops me will just want to try my stash!
City council meetings would be a lot more fun! :)

I Am Offended By That Thing That Blinks At Me Incessantly...

Why and how is it that now my "Machine" can demand my attention?  "Clean" is all the letters next to the blinking light proclaim, but in my mind it might as well be saying,

"Get off yo lazy azz and clean up something around here, why you always got to let everything go? You need to be paying more attention to the house and less attention to all that blah, blah, blah..."!

This is the price I pay for a premium coffee machine?  Now it has an attitude?  I see why BigBucks coffee houses make it, because people do not want to deal with this whole buy it, grind it, do what with those grounds?, ewww that pot looks GROSS!, and now a frkn "Clean ME" demand button too?

Or, like my baby sister would have dealt with it, "It dosen't work anymore so I threw it out", now would make pefectly good sense to me! :)

Off I go to dig out the white vinegar....

"I feel Bad That I Haven't Kept Contact, But I Just Can't Stand To See The Suffering!"

This is paraphrasing the conversation I was earjacking while waiting my turn in line at a local warehouse store recently.  I admit the roar in my ears was a little to cause some loss of the exact wordage, but that is the gist of it none the less!!

Also why I have no friends...

Well, okay so my loud, obnoxious and overbearing personality may have a little to do with it too...
But, to prattle on...

I came up with this "ditty", and you can quoute me,  that I was just DYING to shout out:

"I realize that my pain and suffering is causing you emotional discomfort, and although I am sorry for this, I will not cease to exist so that YOU are more comfortable!!"

HHUURRRUUUMMMMMPPPHHHH!!  :(

Wow, I Am Blown Away! The Real Mitch English read My Blog!!

I have to tell you, I have a real thing for Mitch, he has always reminded me of what my second son probably would look and be like as an adult!  So I have to admit he is my favorite "Daily Buzz" guy!!  I especially love the way he can be so serious when he is actually yanking your chain!!  I tell you, THAT is a gift!! :)  Now I have to say that Kia is as sharp as a tack, wit, humor and looks with just enough B**ch to make it saucy!!  I rank her right up there with one of my other Fav's Sarah Hoskins from my most watched T.V. Channels "Current T.V."  Love it too!!I think they should give Andrea a spot with Sarah... THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!  LOL!

I Have To Confess To One Of My Silly Little Indulgences...

I love the Daily Buzz!  Even though I know it is not local news, I just love their style and delivery!  Beats CNN for entertainment!  Of course your not supposed to be entertained when your watching the news now are you?  Opps, well I guess I am pretty spoiled that way, I am so complacent in my quiet little world where I can hide from reality...

Besides, it is followed by Martha and Lord knows I cannot go without my daily fix of spite and jealousy!  Oh, Uhm, I mean admiration and adoration for sure....

One of today's pressing questions (?) Spank'em or no? Boy have I got some choice thoughts on that, but I guess it can be summed up with the best one liner I heard this morning, "Spank That Ass!!"

I Quit Smoking Cigarettes For Marijuana!

It was a great trade off!

I smoked cigarettes for 30+ years!

I started suffering from bouts of chronic joint pain and swelling when I was in my mid to late 20's.  The doctors diagnosed me with early onset Arthritis and slapped me with a barrage of meds which included Steroids, Massive doses of NSAIDS, Pain and various other goodies thrown in for flair(?)!  It was not long before I was taking more drugs to counter the horrible side effects from the other drugs.  What a vicious cycle I was caught up in!  I would take the drugs for awhile then back off to heal up from the drugs, just to have more "flare ups" of pain and swelling!

After a few years of this up and down cycle, I heard the term Fibromyalgia for the first time.  SO... it turns out that all those years spent treating my "Arthritis" was just chasing my "fibroids" around!  No worry, oh, wait, there isn't any real treatment for this practically folkloric disease, so basically, suffer!  Oh, and get your head examined!

Then one time during the suffering, I happened to go to a friends house for a Party. At this party there was some MJ smoking taking place and I was invited to join in. I had not smoked MJ since my Teen years and thought it would be a kick and so I joined them and smoked it.  I was an inexperienced Bong Hitter, so it was definitely an adventure and I did get quite "relieved" from the immediate annoyance of nagging, throbbing joint pain without even realizing it!   Now, I know that the MJ going around these days IS more powerful than it was in my youth, so what?  It just takes less to get "there" is all!  It is not like your going to OD!  There is no such thing as a MJ overdose, can't happen, you just fall asleep!

The amazing thing was that the NEXT day, I could feel there was a very definite lessening of my stiffness as well as the "nagging" (like tiny creatures taking bites) sensations whenever I moved around.  I had not had any other "meds" in some time by then and knew right away there was a connection to the MJ!  Needless to say, I was quick to look into MMJ as a relief!

Since I already knew that the cigarettes were very detrimental to my well being, I did not think that smoking BOTH the MJ and the Ciggys should go on and I had to give one up!  It took me a couple of months to decide that the MJ was going to stay so the Poison Logs had to go!

Marijuana As The Gateway To Evil...

The only reason ANY thing such as MJ, Alcohol or even Tobacco are a "GATEWAY" is because adults lie to children. They should be given the facts truthfully and taught how to make reasonable decisions based on potential consequences instead of just doing what they are told out of fear! Fear is instilled by the adults in their lives that want to control them without trying to teach them the reasoning behind the message "drugs are bad"!  Now, when (if) they do dabble with the "goodies" under peer pressure or by hapenstance, they discover that they didn't suddenly collapse, die, kill someone or whatever other "fear of God" catastrophe that was supposed to happen, DIDN'T, they feel the “Big Lie” burn! In fact they probably enjoyed it and had a good time, now they are emboldened to do not only more of the first taste of naughty fun, but now ready to check out what "other fun" things they maybe missing out on too! They believe that the adults in their life just do not want them to have “adult fun”, just like SEX!   Now they do not trust adults because the beer, sex, drugs, (?) wasn't terrible at all!

Now who opened that damn GATE?
Just try to get them back in NOW!

Taxing Medical Marijuana Schemes Seem To Be The Trend

I am not sure how this tax law here would REALLY work, but it sure seems that everyone involved is starting to see a big fat cash cow instead of suffering people trying to get their medicine!  I am not talking about the proposals to legalize and tax the sale of Marijuana for recreational use!  That is cool and groovy, really, roll em, package em and tax em for the public to get their jollies, I do not care!  BUT...

I am concerned that the revenuers (as my Grandpappy would speak) are going to be throwing the Medical Marijuana Patients, just providing their own homegrown medicine, in jail for tax evasion!

I used to own my own business and if I used goods that I produced for my own use then I had to pay the taxes on their "value".

So If the Tax Man is allowed to put a "perceived value" on my plants, I then would owe the tax on that "value" after personal use!

What happens if my plants fail?  Or, if they just under produce?

My friend grew 3 plants, same place, same plants, a little differences in technique, I grew 7.

My friends end yeild with 3 plants was just a hair over 2 pounds, about 36 ounces.  I however, with 7 plants just barely yielded 13 ounces.

We all are only growing our own with no intent to sell, we each have our own reccomendations, we would each have to file for a license to grow, how would that be taxed?

Is there a revenuer in the house?

So Now What Is Going To Happen To All Those Fancy Redding / Shasta Co.Medical Marijauna Regulations?

I was waiting for someone else to start this conversation, but it sure has been mighty quiet around these parts concerning Medical Marijuana since the Ca. Supreme Court ruling that said cities and counties could not restrict the amount of medicine available to Medical Marijuana patients!  Hello....

What's up?

I should Be Put Down Like A Sick Dog?...Now, Tell Me How You Really Feel!

Just a recap here, because I have "Issues", I do use the motorized carts when I go shopping, although, I now live in fear that I will end up Here

I was recently privileged to find myself in, yet again, another long line at the local, famously overcrowded "Super" store.  When, just ahead of me a couple of warm bodies, there is a rather loud conversation I am obliged to overhear.  It is such a enlightening conversation too!  It involves one of those bobbing head, young, "yes" men types and one large, knuckle-dragging, loudly boisterous, self proclaimed, "Gun Toting Republican"!  He proceeded to declare that the disabled and handicapped should just be allowed to "Expire" peacefully, without care.  If they can't fend for themselves or have no hope of recovery, then they should just be given a "way out".  Especially those babies that are born "Retards" with all kinds of problems, draining the health care system!  They should not even be allowed to do all that life saving stuff on them!  It could be done in a humane way of course, maybe just a shot or something!

He went on about how animals are put down in humane ways already so they know the best ways...

Do we get a chance?  Maybe at least put it to some kind of vote by a couple of people before the injection?

Mentally, I often feel this is how the weak and sick of our society are being treated. Get out of our way, let the strong survive, every man for himself and let the wealthiest among us decide where, when, how and IF to dole out the scraps from their tables!

The Fit And Rich Should Rule!

Juvenile Breaks Into A Pharmacy?

So I wonder if it is the Pharmacy's Fault?  Should they really keep that much valuable product on the premises?  Also, I wonder if they really had that many people in that community with perscritions that even warrented them having that much product on hand?

I have noticed that one of the current favorite Marijuana Scare Tactics (Like the "Reefer Madness" Public Service Messages of yore) includes ominous warnings of increased crimes where people have "Marijuana on the premises", which apparently is an open invitation for crime.

I am concerned that this is slipping by without notice.  I am to understand then that "Now" it is an invitation to crime to have anything that could be possibly perceived as "valuable" by a crook?  Really! Well clearly then ANYONE that owns guns, jewelry, coins, a Rolex or even has a lot of prescriptions worth A LOT OF MONEY, should also live in fear?  Oh yeah, and then be blamed for having asked for the crime to be committed against them?  The insurance companies would love this "Blame the victim for their own crimes" mentality I am sure!  "We should not have to pay that claim because you were asking to be robbed wearing that diamond necklace to the theater"!

You know, like the girl that dresses sexy is really just advertising to be raped!

Medical Marijuana Issue Ignorance Bluntly Pointed Out To Board Members

I wanted to applaud, as many did, not understanding it was out of protocol to do so!  Here-Here! To Jess B for asking the Council point blank if any one of them had ever bothered to read the Ca Compassionate Use Act Prop 215!  I would point out that this law passed in 1996, 13 years ago, and this council is voting on issues affected by this law and yet...

The somewhat surprise meeting this morning still had a turnout of medical marijuana patients (stoners do still get up everyday) as they fearfully tried to rally.  The fear is there because they fear retribution and societal recriminations!  Yet, some still gathered the strength to stand up and testify for their right to safe and affordable medical relief of their ailments.  A City council member once pointed out that they did not wish to have a debate as to whether or not Medical Marijuana is legitimate or not, merely what the city should do about the dispensaries!

I did attend the last City meeting as well. I must say that the complaints that I heard at both meetings were no worse than other complaints from establishments all over the city, from all types of businesses, i.e. noise, traffic, obnoxious odors, trespassing. loitering, etc... I also noticed the quick knee jerk reaction most people have to clamp down on these places ( the Collectives) without thinking about how those same rules should and could apply to numerous other establishments on "Shasta Planet" as well.

There is an awful lot of "Loitering" by undesirables in the Mt. Shasta Mall parking lot for example! I have clutched my belongings close many times as "Gangs" of teen wanna-be hoodlums strive to prove their bravado by roughing up other teens and or constituents out there!  Close the MALL before nightfall!   Make them all buy their "stuff" and then MOVE ON QUICKLY! (I heard those words from a council member myself as she was speaking on how the patients should be treated when picking up their meds at a collective!)  I would like to see someone show hard evidence of an increase in crime related to these clubs before they jump all over them based on hearsay and blatant exaggeration!

I find it hard to believe that they want rules implemented to prevent bad odors?  I assume this then opens process for other regulations based on other "Obnoxious odors" that are intolerable by any public en mass! I know of a woman that can barely go out into public because she has such severe reactions to some perfumes and common chemicals!  I can barely breathe when my neighbor burns his trash for days on end!  The people with all the horses across the way need to keep that rank odor And their flies under control!  This is merely the tip of that iceberg.  The odor is once a year, for a couple of weeks! The guy that insists on that fresh manure for his front yard twice a year is out doing that!

One of the council members stated that he believed that although there may be some patients that do benefit from the medical aspects of the marijuana that he believes most of the people are just using the CA 215 as an excuse to get high!  Well... I guess I cannot really deny that!  I am sure that is true.  The need to "get high" is definitely connected to being depressed!  Pain, Depression and Nervous Disorders are among the top reasons to be "Recommended" for the use of Medical Marijuana!  My question here is then, okay, so if instead these same people then denounce their Marijuana use and take up the use of some good old fashioned antidepressants and other "mood altering" psychoactive goodies it would be better?  Some most notable of which are Prozac, Zoloft, Elavil, Welbutrin, Cymbalta, ETC...  that are readily available with hardly even a physical exam of any kind. So, now this same person that was using marijuana, with little to no detrimental side effects, now is experiencing horrific and even life threatening as well as life shortening side effects instead for a handful of drugs that scientists cannot even tell you how or why they may or may not work!  Phew! By the way, does everyone know that the reason Cannabis even works at all is because there is specialized receptors just for THC in our Central Nervous System as well as our Immune System?  Hmmm... so we came already made that way....?

Happy Hemp Harvesting!

Well, there is actually quite a bit of difference between the Hemp World and the Medical Marijuana Planet to say the least!  But it still took the Hemp farmers by surprise back (1937) when there was significant confusion after the vote to criminalize the Demon Weed "Cannabis" included their crops of Hemp too! Woa to the American Hemp Industry!  Too bad, as a fiber enthusiast I wish I could convey to all the nice, superior feeling and heft of a good Hemp fabric in your hand!

But back to the current news here, we are all done! A VERY meager showing for all the labor, sweat and stress we dedicated to this crop for sure!  I believe we have just enough to see us through the winter, not a very good yield! It gives me a whole new perspective on the dedication of the people that do this for profit or for the co-ops that provide for the other people unable to do their own gardening!  The so called "commercial" grower has to be giving more than just to be in it for more than the money.  Just like growing my precious $75.00 per pound tomatoes gave me a whole new respect for the farmers that provide us with our daily veggies did before!

Veg On! Buds Up!
